As per above Technical Characteristics, the  New Vehicle has really nothing to do with tradition and particularly with the so called normal “city cars”.

The idea came through a research for defining the desires of people living in towns and surroundings, for a vehicle for everyday.

1)

strange !   The  most  important  characteristic of  the  dreams’ vehicle, was indicated to be the ability of keeping still, i.e.: the possibility of parking easily nearly everywhere.

 To fully meet this demand, it was necessary to:

-
have a max. lenght of the Vehicle  within  2  meters, to enable manoeuvering perpendicularly to the pavement, without sticking out from the line of traditional cars parked along it;
-
have a steering ratio very short, to enable manoeuvring in the meanders of an overcrowded parking area;
-
eliminate the traditional doors as, to be opened, they require a space that often there is not.

This first demand  has been met by:

-

reducing the lenght of the Vehicle  below  2  meters.

When the UOVO is parked perpendicularly to the pavement, overcomes it by 15 cms. and its back is then at 182 cms. from the border; therefore its tail keeps largely within the line of medium size cars parked along the pavement.

-
transferring the steering functions to the back wheels;  thus, it has been achieved the exceptional steering radius of 150 cm
-
the UOVO opens by pivoting backwards a large part of the front body-shell; thus, while it can be completely opened and closed, it does not have doors. -Therefore, beeng large 137 cm., it needs less than 150 cm to park.
-
the access from the front large more than 80 cm. (f.i. from a pavement), is very comfortable and safe. In addition, the UOVO does not oblige  to bow for entering, as into traditional vehicles.  – Also the 2 sides access are easy.
2)
Soon after, people required  Safety.
-
  For example, when a very small vehicle is running on a boulevard or a ring-road, in winter, during the evening hours, in a flow of much bigger vehicles, that might go at a low speed of  50/60 Kms/h, but that very seldom keep safety distances, no matter what could happen, the said small vehicle,  must not skid or go sideway.  But must instead, continue stadely, keeping its right trajectory.
This second demand - safety - has been met by:
-
adopting the Siamese front wheels, i.e.: 2 indipendent tyres fitted on an unique wheel.  – if a tyre has a puncture or it blasts, the UOVO can continue its running and reach destination without stopping.
-
This is valid also for the back wheels, as they are close one to the other  and can be siamese too.
-
The siamese  wheels grant also a high anti aqua-planing effect.
-
The road holding in bad  road conditions, is provided by the fact that, while the traditional cars run on two carriageways only  (4 tyres one after the other), the UOVO has  6  tyres that run on 6 different carriageways,  as a cat with 6 paws.
-
The old steering column, traditional killer, has been substituted by a side support, armless and protecting in case of accident.
